Being Pro-Choice Does Not Prevent Abortion Grief

Women dealing with the unexpected emotions that follow an
abortion are reportedly finding programs such as a San
Francisco Bay area talk-line a much-needed service,
Insidebayarea.com reported.
Monica Lois, who is pro-abortion, began to experience
tremendous grief about nine months after having one --
grief so intense that she almost dropped out of college.
"Once these feelings started surfacing," she said, "I
didn't know what to do with myself. I basically had a
nervous breakdown."
Aspen Baker, one of five who founded the talk-line, which
purportedly does not take sides in the abortion debate,
did so out of a felt need when she could not find
counseling for herself after an abortion.
"People will call us who had two abortions more than 15
years ago," said Baker, "and say, 'Where were you then?'"
Though the American Medical Association has refused to
acknowledge post-abortion psychological stress as real,
many women go on to experience grief for years following
the decision to abort their pre-born child.
