GOSPEL OF LIFE COMMITTEE
Mission:
The Gospel of Life Committee is committed to providing
spiritual and educational leadership for the community of St. Francis Xavier to
foster and advocate respect and protection for the gift of human life.
Charter:
To fulfill the Holy Father’s directive to respect,
protect and celebrate the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural
death.
Scripture:
“You formed my being; you
knit me in my mothers’ womb. I praise you so wonderfully you made me; wonderful
are your works.” Psalm 139: 13-14
“Human life is sacred because from its beginning it
involves the creative action of God and it remains forever in a special
relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end;
no one can under any circumstances claim for himself theright to directly
destroy an innocent human being.” (CCC 2258.)
